Webminのインストール - Debian(etch)

Debian(etch)でサーバ構築にチャレンジする！という企画の第16弾！
今回はWebminのインストールにチャレンジです。

※一口メモ：Webminとは？
GUIでLinuxの各種設定を行うことができるツールの集合体。ユーザーアカウントの追加、webサーバの設定、DNSサーバの設定など、ほとんどの操作をブラウザ上から簡単に行うことができます。Linuxコマンド(CUIでの設定)が苦手な方でも比較的簡単にサーバの管理を行うことができます。

1. インストールの準備

sargeまではwebminパッケージがDebianの開発側で用意されていたのですが、なぜかetchからはDebianパッケージとしての配布が中止されてしまいました。しかしながら、Webmin公式サイトでDebian用のパッケージが用意されていますので、今回はそれを使ってインストールすることにしましょう。

まずはWebminリポジトリを/etc/apt/sources.listに追加します。

debian:~# vim /etc/apt/sources.list

最下行に下記の1行(リポジトリ)を追加。

deb http://download.webmin.com/download/repository sarge contrib

2. Webminパッケージのインストール

リポジトリで利用可能なパッケージリストを更新して、インストールを開始します。
